People tend to pay a lot of attention to the exterior of their cars. They wash, wax, and polish the outer parts of the vehicle until it is shining. This makes sense since this is the aspect of your vehicle that people see the most of. What does tend to get ignored quite often, however, is the interior of the car. This is especially true for cargo or passenger vans. Well, if you are planning on selling your vehicle in the future or just want to spruce it up, here are some of the things that you can do:
Thoroughly Clean the Floors, Walls, and Ceiling
Regardless of how long you have owned your vehicle, one thing is for sure – there is going to be a lot of dust, dirt, and debris hanging around. This is the case even if it isn’t immediately apparent to the naked eye. This is why one of the first things that you need to do is to vacuum all of the surfaces with a high powered vacuum, preferably with a brush. This will get rid of all of those tiny particles that may have embedded themselves into the various materials or fibres. Once you are done, it is a good idea to wipe down the surfaces with warm soapy water, as long as that particular material can be cleaned this way.
Take Care of the Vinyl and Plastic Surfaces
There are going to be several smaller areas such as the console that is either going to be made of plastic or vinyl. These regions have to be cleaned a little more specifically. For instance, you are going to need to use a special detergent so that you will not damage the material. However, with a little bit of elbow grease, your plastic should be as clean as a whistle. While it may now be clean, it may also be a little more faded than you remember. Fortunately for you, there are specialised paints that can be used on these places. This can bring back the lustre and make all of the surfaces look as good as new.
Swap Out the Flooring
Does the carpet in your vehicle look patchy or as though it has been chewed out by rats? This is what happens to fabric over time, particularly if you have used the vehicle quite frequently. Well, to make sure that you don’t have to deal with that same problem again, you should look for a sturdier van floor. In particular, you may want to consider a wooden floor that is going to be able to withstand a lot more use. This is a great decision since the base of your vehicle is going to look amazing for a longer period of time.
Upholster the Seats
If you have a passenger vans, then there is a chance that they are looking a little worse for wear. If so, it is time to swap out the coverings for new ones. If you have a little bit of skill with a needle and thread, you can actually save yourself some money and make your own covers. Not to mention, you can get as creative as you like.
These are some of the ways that you can make the inside of your vehicle look completely new and updated.
